These past few weeks have brought about radical changes in daily life, at home and in business, as we adjust to life in a COVID19 world.  Along with this, comes the realization that many of these changes will continue to form part of our lives for the foreseeable future, and now we are all wondering how that future will look.

While it’s impossible to predict the future with certainty, here is what we do know:

  • We will all be yearning for a return to face-to-face interactions, and the camaraderie that goes beyond the formal sessions. However, with the wider opportunities of online exchanges now being displayed to their full advantage (online classrooms, webinars and even social gatherings) coupled with the concerns about in-person meetings that will linger, online options will be here to stay – that genie is out of the bottle.
  • The way we move about in public, our awareness of personal space and appropriate social distancing will change. Even as the official restrictions ease – travel opens up; larger gatherings are permitted – we will still experience corporate constraints, and individual reticence to jump back right in.
  • In this new world, there will be much to learn and much to share. As our clients and partners are experiencing already, content, standards of practice, information, news, updates and much more can be disseminated effectively through multiple means. These methods of delivery will form part of the new repertoire moving forward and will complement in-person meetings, conferences and events.
  • Organizations will only thrive by adapting, which will mean incorporating and balancing these new, virtual opportunities with existing plans and meetings.

Our Base Consulting team has been working alongside our client Board and Committee members to help drive changes and innovations to existing programs and services.  We know that in pivoting plans, each organization will continue to thrive and provide true value to their membership and community.  The openings for variety and added depth of offering will continue well beyond these few months, demonstrating not only the adaptability of each group, but the relevance and importance of their Organization.

We look forward to continuing this journey together with all our clients and communities; helping to build strong platforms, and to go from strength to strength.

Stay well!
