We are all experiencing unprecedented times. Many of us in Toronto have had some experience in 2003 during the SARS virus occurrence in this city.
At Base Consulting, our association management team members are keeping abreast of global news and updates from official sources. In parallel, we are receiving continual information from both the association and meetings industries regarding best practices and tactics.
Apart from the wholesale travel and movement restrictions in countries that have already been hard hit by the virus, various meetings and education events are being cancelled and postponed across multiple industries and sectors, as all levels of governments, corporations and organizations take a responsible and cautious approach to prevent potential spread of the virus. As a result, many of our client boards have also made hard decisions to cancel or postpone their upcoming key events. Where appropriate, we are exploring alternate options for delivery of education, including virtual events and tradeshows.
We are encouraging our staff to use public transport outside of peak hours and take sensible measures to mitigate exposure. And, we are ready to work remotely as needed.
It is our pleasure and privilege to work with all our client, supplier and partners, during these unusual and stressful times as well as during the “normal” busy times!
We wish everyone good health!
